South West Crete.

The village Chora Sfakion we find on south west coast of Crete. The village is specially known as the finishing place from the thousands of walking fans coming home after their Samaria gorge walk. Locally it’s better known as the area of the “Sfakians” a population that has always been a bit special compared to the rest of the Cretans. Sfakians have their own rules, laws and traditions and we spare you the details. But the Sfakians are also true friends, we say on Crete if you have a Sfakian friend, you have somebody that would die for you, if necessary.

The area can be seen as the best area for people that like to discover Crete on their feet. It’s an ideal district for walking, with so many of our famous gorges just a few Km. from your hotel. The spring also invites you to climb the highest mountains, but we recommend to do this with a local guide. The beaches in the area are sometimes a bit hided, but than you are maybe the only guest of that day. Here we work together with:
